Bittencourt Notes is an independent, multilingual publication edited by Thiago Bittencourt. It publishes essays and analysis on politics, history, international relations, and public affairs, with occasional excursions into technology, aviation, and the ways the Internet shapes public life.

I am an internationalist, writer, and software builder. I studied International Relations at PUC-Rio; alongside writing about how the world is organized, I build useful things for the Internet. Bittencourt Notes is the editorial home for this work—not a personal coding experiment or an exhaustive repository of everything I have ever written.

The archive brings together texts written at different stages of my life, including school and university work. They are generally preserved as published, so their date and original context matter; older articles may not reflect my present views. Material corrections may be noted when appropriate.

Privacy and audience measurement

The site provides no comment section, user accounts, or contact forms. If you send an email, the information in your message is used to handle the correspondence and is processed by the relevant email providers.

The live publication uses Google Analytics and Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand readership and technical performance. Google Analytics may set first-party cookies and process page activity, session statistics, approximate location, and browser or device information. According to Cloudflare, its Web Analytics service does not use cookies or local storage, fingerprint individuals, or collect or use visitors’ personal data. Cloudflare also provides network delivery and security services for the site and necessarily processes ordinary web-request data in that role.

You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings without losing access to the publication. Further information is available in Google’s privacy policy and Cloudflare’s privacy policy.
